Germany’s first shopping center opened on May 2, 1964, and Main-Taunus-Zentrum has continued its success story since that historic day 53 years ago. At the time, MTZ was not only the first shopping center in Germany, but also the first shopping center in Europe that was built in the open countryside. As such, the opening of MTZ in 1964 was the start of the history of shopping centers in Germany.
MTZ’s central location in the Frankfurt Rhine-Main metropolitan region means outstanding accessibility for visitors. Situated directly adjacent to the A66 highway between Wiesbaden and Frankfurt, MTZ can be reached by car via the B8 and its own freeway exit. Over 4,500 complimentary parking spaces are available here, just waiting for you to visit. Guests that want to come using public transportation can choose from a number of different bus lines that operate on a daily basis.
MTZ’s appearance has changed significantly since the shopping center first opened its doors. The face of retail is always changing, and as such, MTZ was modernized and expanded in the years 2000/2001, 2003/2004, and 2011/2012, each time adapted to the spirit of the time and customer’s needs. This was always carried out with the main goal of making a shopping trip for you, our loyal visitors, to “your” center as enjoyable as possible.
A total of 170 shops here offer a one-of-a-kind selection that truly leaves nothing to be desired. You’ll find brands at MTZ that are currently some of the most popular in the world. An attractive dining and fresh foods area invites you to relax and enjoy. And the range of services available, from a medical center, post office, multiplex cinema, gas station, and car wash, mean you’ll find nearly everything you’re looking for here.
We invite you to pay us a visit and browse, shop, dine, and be thoroughly delighted.
We’ll see each other at Main-Taunus-Zentrum!
